How do you change the pcv valve on a '01 ford ranger with a 2.5L engine?

I have looked for it a lot. Is there something that would make it easier to spot? I have been told under the intake manifold however it is practically impossibly to see under it, or put your hand in there. Do I need to take anything off? Do you think a amatuer to intermediate mechanic could do it? Any help would be great.

Any pictures or diagrams would be great. (there is one under the hood but it doesnt help)How do you change the pcv valve on a %26039;01 ford ranger with a 2.5L engine?
It IS under the intake manifold!!! Look up from under the truck and you will find it. I had one and if I remember correctly, it was not too difficult to change once I found it. Follow one of the hoses from the throttle body that goes below the intake, the pcv valve is connected to one of them. Wait until you have to replace the spark plugs, it has 8 of them and the ones on the intake side are a son of a biscuit to replace, but they can be done with the intake on.How do you change the pcv valve on a %26039;01 ford ranger with a 2.5L engine?
Disregard all the electrical wires and all the small vacuum hoses, there won't be many hoses left. Follow each of the remaining vacuum hoses end to end and look for the pcv valve close to the block, up tight under the intake, it is covered by the hose it is connected to. TAKE YOUR TIME.

on most vehicles, from the air cleaner down to the valve cover area a hose about 1/2'' diameter, that's where you should find it. most pcv's just pull straight out. you may have to pull the air cleaner ***'y to get access to itHow do you change the pcv valve on a %26039;01 ford ranger with a 2.5L engine?
It's in the valve cover. It is inserted right into it and has a hose going from it to the air cleaner. Just pull it out of the valve cover. Remove the hose from it and attach the hose to the new one and reinsert it..

It is rare but I have actually seen them under a cover you have to remove on some cars. And the engine in your ranger may not be a ford engine but a Mitsubishi engine. But I still think it is right in the valve cover. And like the guy said above you may have to take the aircleaner off to get easier access to itHow do you change the pcv valve on a %26039;01 ford ranger with a 2.5L engine?
have you check with your autopart store they can tell you where it is or even if it has one. i just check with autozone web site and there is no listing for a pvc valve for that truck
