What is a PCV vavle? How important is it to change?

how important is a PCV valve? what does it do? can u check it? how often should it be replaced? how easy or how hard is it?What is a PCV vavle? How important is it to change?
PCV valve is smog crap and should be thrown away as soon as your car passes emissions.

Ok, back to reality now. The PCV valve is actuated by pressure and introduces crankcase ventilation gasses back into the intake manifold thus robbing the combustion process of oxygen. (crankcase gasses are 'blow by' from the combustion chamber and are 100% carbon dioxide and other crap gasses).

Because the government has determined that the exhaust gas in your crankcase isn't pure enough to vent into the atmosphere like tailpipe exhaust gas, they held a gun to the automaker's heads and forced them to create a system where it's re-introduced into the fuel/fresh air system and sent back into your engine to %26quot;burn%26quot; again (even though exhaust doesn't burn).

So now you have add it to your %26quot;to-do%26quot; list to be sure that stupid little valve that passes cruddy smokey air doesn't get clogged. Oh joy. And does the government pay you to do this? No.

How does it feel being a slave to a despotic regime?

if it gets plugged up, it can make a oily mess under your car :(What is a PCV vavle? How important is it to change?
Its a valve that takes oil vapors from the valve cover and recirculates then into the fuel system so they can be burned again, in which is part of your emission system and should be changed every time you do a tune upWhat is a PCV vavle? How important is it to change?
It regulates the engine vaccum. It is highly important to change asap. It isn't that hard if you know your way around a motor and have some experience. What is a PCV vavle? How important is it to change?
PCV = Positive Crankcase Ventilation valve, helps keep acidic buildups of combustion gasses from collecting in the inside of the engine. If you remove the valve with the engine off you should be able to shake it and hear or feel it rattle if not, change it. If you pull the valve out of the grommet that it seats in while the engine is running and up to temp, you should hear it drawing air in. If not replace it. It is an easy replacement. What is a PCV vavle? How important is it to change?
a pcv valve pulls the gases up out of the crankcase so the oil wont get contamitated.just pull it out and see if it rattles.for all they cost, better put a new 1 in.also check the hose too.you can clean them with carb. cleaner if you dont have the money to buy 1.you can check to see if it is bad about once a year.its not too hard to change.its either in the valve cover or the intake. What is a PCV vavle? i own a repair shop, and this is a device that goes in to the top of the valve cover and helps pull the gases from the inside of the engine,,this helps the engine breath a lot better ,,it sort of acts like a vent ,in a way,,but it uses vacuum to pull the gases out with,,good luck,i hope this help,s..and it is important to keep it clean,,always install a new one when you do a tune up,,very easy part to install,,good luck. What is a PCV vavle? The positive crankcase ventilation valve or (PCV) uses vacum from the intake-manifold to remove gases from the crankcase. Too much pressure or lack of gas removal can result in rough idle and general poor performance of the engine. What is a PCV vavle? How important is it to change?
change it when you rattle it in your hand and it doesnt make rattling sound

they are cheap, cheange it often if its all oily gummy

it pulls oily gases out of the crankcase into the intake to be burntWhat is a PCV vavle? How important is it to change?
Positive Crankcase Ventilation valve allows vapors from the oil pan (crankcase) to be drawn through the carburetor or throttle body by engine vacuum into the combustion chamber where they are burned with the fuel/air mixture. If you live in an area where automobile emissions are tested, the PCV valve can determine whether your car passes or fails emissions. You can get the right one for your car at any auto parts store and the clerk should be able to show you where it goes. It is best to change the PCV at every oil change.
